If your business has a website, you should read this blog! In business, we often make the mistake of focusing on the fires we need to put out, instead of looking at our business website from a bird’s eye view… We overlook things like:

What is the endgame to having a website for our business? Most businesses get websites because they “feel” like it’s the “right” thing to do, eventually – but they tend to forget why they have it. A website isn’t something to “check” off a “checklist”, but something to build your brand online, and have clients find you! So ask yourself, what’s the endgame to having your website?

Why did you have a website? Again, was it to check it off a proverbial “checklist”… Or was it to get high quality customers, looking at the best products and services you have to offer, so they can look for you instead of you looking for them?

WHAT A POOR WEBSITE COSTS YOU IN THE LONG RUN?

If you get a website just for the sake of having a website, what are the chances of you maximising on what a website can do for you? Would you get a cheaper, lower quality website?  Or spend more to invest in a great website that brings quality clients to your doors, openly looking to invest in your product and buy something? Often times, we forget the asset a website can be, and don’t build it as such – as a result, we have a poorly performing website, that might as well be “kicking” people off without you realizing it! So what can we do about it? If you are looking to improve your website now, here are a few tips on what you can do to get better results, using methods that work…

BUILD IT TO GET A RESULT

If you need to make a sizeable shift in the way your website functions, looks and feels, you need to start at the right place. A website should not be an information brochure, that explains EVERYTHING your business does – It needs to explain what you believe will be pertinent to the RIGHT CLIENT, so they can take the necessary buying steps with you! Build it, in such a way, that it becomes EASY for potential customers to chat with you!

SHOW THE VALUE

If you have everything your business does, laid out over one page, it isn’t easy for your quality client to seek out “why your business is valuable to them.” You need to show the value, the REASON why your business brings the benefit in a UNIQUE way to how ANY other competitor in your industry to your customer. Why not start with a short introductory video that showcases and invites your client to see what you have to offer? With video converting 168 times better than text, it’s a great way to start!

GET TO THE POINT

Following along the point of showcasing your value, you also need to get to the point. Don’t waste any readers’ time with what your business is “about” (on average, the “about us” page gets the least visits on any website) but instead tell them what you can do RIGHT NOW to assist them! Building your website shouldn’t be a grudge purchase or something to check off a list…

Instead, build your website to actually bring value to you, whether it be in the form of higher quality clients and more of them… or building your brand better!
